First Grade Readiness Skills
Students entering first grade should be able to
identify all of the letters of the alphabet in capital and
lower-case form and also be able to produce the sounds of all the

Students are expected to count
from 1 to 100 aloud.
Students should be able to tie their own shoes and
zip their own clothing and jackets. They should also know
personal information such as:
- First and last name
- Parents' first and last names
- Home telephone number
- Home address, including city
